2013 Eve Morning Mantra
I’m a New Year’s baby, so I’m a pretty adamant believer in resolutions. This year, I took what started out as a pretty rough beginning to 2012, and turned it into the year my dreams began to come true. This is the year I was able to make a living as an independent writer, and it’s pretty awesome. Not only that, but this year I’ve seen my byline go beyond regional mags and appear on USA Today, Livestrong, etc etc and fulfilled a nearly life-long goal of working with Latina. Best yet, I did it by working hard and asking for it. No luck or connections were involved in securing any of it. One morning this year, I woke up and decided it was time to go for it, and I did.
I still have more goals, but I’m off to a good start. I’ve learned an important lesson this year. Always stick with what you love. When someone tells you that you can’t, don’t even respond, just show them that you will. A dream is only a pipe dream if YOU believe that it is. I’m sharing this because I know cliches in pretty typeface are easy to come about these days, but I’m living proof that you actually can make it happen.
Make 2013 the year you make your dreams come true. All it takes is a plan and a timeline.
Thank you all for the support in 2012. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what 2013 brings. xo
